Wren Warne-Jacobsen, Solomon Bristol Set to Defend Titles at U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships

The nation’s elite collegiate figure skaters are gearing up for an exciting showdown at the 2025 U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships & Invitational, taking place from July 18-20 in Flossmoor, Illinois. This premier event showcases full-time, part-time, and recently graduated student-athletes who will compete for prestigious U.S. titles and valuable scholarship opportunities.

Two standout champions will return to defend their titles: Wren Warne-Jacobsen, the reigning senior women’s champion, and Solomon Bristol, the current junior men’s titleholder. Warne-Jacobsen, a talented skater representing the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, is on the hunt for her third consecutive gold after dominating the last two championships with wins by margins of 8.24 and 9.75 points.

Bristol, who played a key role in Boston University’s historic eighth National Intercollegiate Final victory earlier this year in Notre Dame, Indiana, looks to make it a back-to-back triumph in the junior men’s category. Alongside these formidable competitors are Genella Evans, Caroline Mura, and Kelly Janetzko, all striving for repeat podium finishes in the junior women’s event.

Adding to the excitement is Taira Shinohara, the junior U.S. men’s silver medalist at the 2024 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, making his debut in the senior men’s event at the U.S. Collegiate Championships.

The prestigious competition won’t just be about titles; it also includes scholarship awards for top finishers. The following scholarships will be awarded: $4,000 to champions, $2,000 for silver medalists, and $1,000 for bronze medalists in the senior divisions. In the junior categories, champions receive $1,000, while silver medalists earn $500.

Additionally, participants can engage in the U.S. Collegiate Invitational, a separate nonqualifying event where skaters can showcase their skills in various categories while representing their colleges on a national level.

Stay tuned for results and updates from the 2025 U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships & Invitational, as these elite competitors battle for glory and invaluable scholarships.
