The Skating Club of Boston Wins Five Titles at 2025 National Theatre on Ice
Last week in Allen, Texas, the 2025 National Theatre On Ice competition crowned champions across nine divisions, with The Skating Club of Boston leading the charge by clinching gold in five events. Their dominance shone through in senior, junior, novice, intermediate, and adaptive categories, while Harmony Theatre Company of Michigan took home titles in preliminary and adult events.
The senior team, Forte of Boston, reclaimed their championship status with a score of 206.76, marking their third total title. Their choreographic exercise “Fight Democratic Tyranny” was a crowd favorite, showcasing exceptional thematic presentation that earned a remarkable segment score of 64.26. Following closely for second place, Harmony Theatre Company amassed a total of 181.02 points.
In the junior division, Act I of Boston continued their legacy with a historic sixth title while Los Angeles Ice Theatre secured silver. Known for their innovative storytelling, Act I’s “Bolero: A warrior’s journey” swept the event with an impressive score of 167.91.
Shifting focus to the novice category, Encore of Boston staged a stunning comeback to secure gold with a final score of 142.93. The event was highlighted by Harmony’s victory in the choreographic phase, earning them bronze.
Intermediate accolades went to Allegro of Boston, who maintained their winning streak with a total of 116.18 points, narrowly defeating Harmony Theatre’s notable efforts. The youth demonstrated how the bonds of togetherness could reforge history.
The juvenile battle saw the Space Coast Hurricanes illustrate stunning new techniques and won gold, narrowly claiming victory against Team Envision. Their storytelling bridge was especially strong, displaying creativity briefed from a season’s rites.
Finally, in the adaptive category, newcomers Overture of Boston impressed judges with their heartfelt portrayal, earning the gold medal. Their program highlighted the emotional complexities many face and brought joy to a new audience.
This year’s competition, now notable as a benchmark for excellence in theatrical skating, promises to contribute significantly to the history of professional figure skating.
