Amber Glenn Wins Nebelhorn Trophy 2025 – In an exhilarating conclusion to the Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf, Germany, American figure skater Amber Glenn claimed the top spot on the podium after finishing second in both the short and free skate events. The competition took place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, showcasing remarkable talent in the world of professional figure skating.

With a total score of 214.49 points, Glenn narrowly edged out Japan’s Chiba Mone, who finished second with a total of 213.64 points. Rising star and teenager Shin Jia from the Republic of Korea finished third with an aggregate of 208.45 points. Glenn’s journey to triumph was not without hurdles, as she faced a fierce challenge from Chiba and Shin.

“Oh my god, it was so hard towards the end of the program,” exclaimed Glenn to Golden Skate after her performance. “I got a cramp during my spin, and afterward, I still had to do the loop. So that was very hard. Otherwise, I feel really good. Next time I have to remember to hydrate more before skating.”

Entering the ice, Glenn was determined to surpass Chiba, who had dazzled audiences with a season-best score of 144.40 in her free skate program. Glenn’s score of 140.80 was just shy of that mark but proved sufficient to secure victory over 17-year-old Shin. Shin was under pressure to achieve a strong score of 140.3, as her previous season’s best stood at 117.85.

Despite placing fourth after the short program, Chiba’s impressive free skate propelled her back into contention for the podium. Her disciplined performance significantly elevated her standing. “Because it’s an Olympic season, I think I’m working even harder and putting in even more effort,” Chiba noted after the event.

This thrilling event at the Nebelhorn Trophy signals an exciting season ahead for figure skating fans, as these athletes continue to hone their skills in pursuit of Olympic glory.
