Aboian and Veselukhin Secure Gold, Lead U.S. to Three Medals at Junior Grand Prix Thailand

In a thrilling display of athleticism and artistry, reigning U.S. junior ice dance champions Hana Maria Aboian and Daniil Veselukhin claimed the gold medal at the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating event held in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 9 to 13, 2025. Their stunning performance not only secured a top spot but also helped propel the U.S. National Team to an impressive total of three medals.

Skating in front of enthusiastic fans at the IWIS International Training Center, Aboian and Veselukhin dominated both the rhythm and free dance segments. They opened with an electrifying performance to Madonna’s “Vogue,” scoring an impressive 61.00, highlighted by their remarkable sequential twizzles which earned 8.94 points.

In their emotionally charged free dance, set to the powerful music of Trailerhead’s tracks, they executed a combination lift that garnered 12.79 points, making it the highest-scoring element of the competition. With course principles and an emerging synergy, their partnership, which formed in December 2023, showcased flawless execution, scoring all positive grades.

Additionally, Patrick Blackwell captured the silver medal with a total score of 212.17—his second Junior Grand Prix medal—while Sofia Jarmoc and Luke Witkowski secured bronze in pairs. Both achieved personal bests across their segments, further underscoring the breadth of U.S. talent.

Blackwell demonstrated remarkable skill, securing third in the short program through four triple jumps, including an eye-catching triple Lutz-triple toe combination. His technical prowess continued in the free skate, culminating in a dazzling quad toe-triple toe sequence worth 15.60 points.

Jarmoc and Witkowski, the reigning U.S. junior pewter medalists, scored multilayereds with a strong short program performance to Bruno Mars’ hits followed by a gripping free skate including multiple Level 4 lifts, showcasing their growth in the competitive arena.
