Men’s world champion Ilia Malinin aims to extend his remarkable winning streak at the 2025 Skate Canada International in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, from 31 October to 2 November. This event marks the third stop of the 2025–26 ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix season.

World-renowned competitors Malinin and Nakai Ami head into the competition looking to boost their qualifying points for the upcoming Grand Prix Final in December in Japan. Both are fresh off victories at the season-opening Grand Prix de France, where their performances were nothing short of extraordinary.

All eyes will be on Malinin as he competes in the men’s singles event. The two-time world champion will face off against formidable contenders, including Kévin Aymoz from France and Georgian skater Nika Egadze, who aims to capitalize on his recent success following a top-three finish in Angers.

In the women’s competition, Nakai is expected to defend her unexpected win against strong competitors such as 2024 world silver medallist Isabeau Levito and two-time Four Continents medallist Bradie Tennell. Additionally, Japan’s Chiba Mone will bring the heat as a recent bronze medallist from the World Championships.

The pairs event is headlined by Canada’s 2024 world champions, Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps, looking to recover from their first Grand Prix loss in years. They face stiff competition from reigning world champs Miura Riku and Kihara Ryuichi.

Lastly, the ice dance segment promises fireworks with home favorites Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier seeking their sixth consecutive Skate Canada title. They are set to defend their title with an impressive resume.
